1. THE EFFECT OF THE DISTRIBUTED GENERATION (DG) ON THE CONTRIBUTORY FACTORS IN THE IRANIAN 33-BUSES DISTRIBUTION NETWORK
by Ali Asadi & Mehdi Nafar
Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to present an optimized capacity for the distribution generation (DG) units using a location memetic algorithm in order to minimize the losses and improve the voltage profile considering the technical limitations of the network and DG units. Due to the increasing DGs applications, it is essential to determine the location and optimal capacity, as well as examining the practical effects of these units on the power system, particularly in the distribution network. Since Micro Turbine has been selected as one of several types of DG, the economical aspects regarding the costs of these units have been studied in this article. A sample of Iran’s 33-Bus Radial Network System (IEEE) has been utilized for the simulations and the representation of the results. The related findings show that the proposed algorithm has good effects on determining the capacity and location of the DG units.

2. PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT PROCESS IN FOOD INDUSTRIES: TOOLS MANAGEMENT ANALYSIS IN POST-DEVELOPMENT STAGE

by Melisa De Greef, Leticia Arcusin & Germán Rossetti

Abstract

Product Development Process (PDP) is considered increasingly important to the competitiveness of business procedure, especially at food producing industries.

Some authors propose a model that outlines the process in macrophases. It underscores Post-Development macrophase, which involves following the products on the market, from launch to its recall.

This paper proposes procedures and tools to be used at Post-development macrophase of PDP in food industries. The study is based on a literature review, in relation to the PDP in food producing industries and also to PDP and management tools.

Among the main conclusions, it stresses that in food industries a large number of procedures and tools are related to the activities of Development stage. Regarding Post-development macrophase, the methodologies used are mainly focused on customer satisfaction activities, due to its importance for companies, but is still incipient the use of models that standardize the management of the PDP at this stage.

3. SENSITIVITY ANALYSIS OF TREATMENT AND COUNSELING IN A CO INFECTION MODEL OF HIV/AIDS, TUBERCULOSIS AND MALARIA
by Ochieng Ombaka
Abstract

This study presents a co infection deterministic model defined by a system of ordinary differential equations for HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis. The model is analyzed to investigate the potential impact of counseling and treatment on disease progression by carrying out sensitivity analysis of the reproduction number with respect to counseling and treatment. The sensitivity indices of the reproduction numbers  RH,  RHM,  RHT   and RHMT  with respect to treatment and counseling for the HIV/AIDS individuals showed that counseling is the most sensitive pa-

rameter in controlling the co infections.

4. MECHANICS EQUATIONS OF FRENET-SERRET FRAME ON MINKOWSKI SPACE

by Emin Ozyilmaz & Zeki Kasap

Abstract

It is well known that Minkowski space is the mathematical space setting and Einstein’s theory of special relativity is most appropriate formulated. Dynamical systems theory is an area of mathematics used to describe the behavior of complex dynamical systems in which usually by employing differential equations or difference equations. The Frenet-Serret formulas describe the kinematic properties of a particle which moves along a continuous, differentiable curve in Euclidean space three-dimensional real space or the geometric properties of the curve itself in any case of any motion. The Frenet-Serret trihedron plays a key role in the differential geometry of curves such that its shows ultimately leading to a more or less complete classification of smooth curves in Euclidean space up to congruence. In this paper, we established mechanics Equations of Frenet-Serret frame on Minkowski space and we considered a relativistic for an electromagnetic field that it is moving under the influence of its own Frenet-Serret curvatures. Also, we obtained the mechanical equations of motion for several curvatures dependent actions of interest in physics.

5. A NOTE ON THE COMPLEXITY ANALYSIS OF FAST ITERATIVE SHRINKAGE-THRESHOLDING ALGORITHM
by Qian Liu
Abstract

The fast iterative shrinkage-thresholding algorithm (FISTA) which was proposed by Beck and Teboulle in 2009, is a benchmark for minimization the sum of two convex functions such that one is differentiable with Lipschitz gradient. They proved the sequence generated by FISTA for which the the objective is controlled, have a complexity rate  which is the optimal complexity rate for first-order algorithm in the sense of Nemirovski and Yudin. However, their proof strategy is tricky. In this note, we give a new proof of the complexity analysis of FISTA. The same  complexity rate of function value sequence is easily established.
